Last week it was reported that Apple would be purchasing Beats Music for $3.2 billion, and that the deal would be finalized sometime this week. However, today a new report claims that sources close to the transaction claim the deal may not be finalized until next week.
Apple’s planned deal to buy Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion may not be finalized until next week, according to people familiar with the transaction. That’s a longer timetable than some people expected as recently as a few days ago
Once the deal closes, Beats co-founders Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine will be joining Apple's executive team and could even appear onstage at WWDC next month. There have been many theories thrown around as to why Apple wants to purchase Beats, but it seems we will have to wait a bit longer to see what Apple has up its sleeves.

Either way, it is a huge waste. That kind of money for Beats?!?! That's nonsense. For what? What does Apple need with beats? It doesn't make a bit of sense.
