In January, Bloomberg reported that Apple is working on two new iMac models - codenamed J456 and J457 — to replace the existing 21.5-inch and 27-inch models. Those codenames have now been spotted in the new beta of macOS by 9to5Mac.
The latest beta version of macOS Big Sur comes with codes for two new iMacs, which are identified as “iMac21,1” and “iMac21,2” — it’s worth mentioning that these numbers are not related to display size.
This isn't the first reference we've seen to a new iMac. Last week, an unreleased iMac likely using Apple Silicon was spotted in an Xcode crash log by DaftCloud developer Dennis Oberhoff.
