Ransomware group RansomHub is threatening to leak confidential engineering data stolen from Luxshare, a key Apple manufacturing partner responsible for assembling the iPhone, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro.

The attackers announced the alleged breach on a dark web forum, claiming to possess sensitive files from Apple and other major tech clients, including Nvidia and Tesla. The group asserts it has accessed 3D CAD models, printed circuit board diagrams, and internal engineering schematics.

According to a report from Cybernews, researchers analyzed sample data attached to the post and found what appear to be legitimate project details regarding device repair and shipping processes dating from 2019 to 2025. The leak reportedly exposes project timelines, the personal information of employees, and technical drawings used for product manufacturing.

The attackers claim they encrypted the company's systems on December 15, 2025. This timeline aligns with a previous report from late last month regarding a cyberattack on an unnamed Apple assembler in China. At the time, industry sources indicated the immediate security hole had been patched, but the extent of data exfiltration was still being assessed.

Luxshare has become an increasingly critical part of Apple's supply chain. The company assembles AirPods and the Apple Watch, and served as the primary assembler for the Vision Pro before Apple reportedly halted production of the headset. It has also been tapped to supply components for future devices, including the iPhone 18 Pro.

As noted by Hackread, the group's post includes a message urging Luxshare to pay a ransom to prevent the files from being published. While some download links provided by the hackers appear to be offline, the potential exposure of hardware vulnerabilities or trade secrets poses a significant risk. Neither Apple nor Luxshare has issued a formal statement regarding the specific claims.
