Como Hacer el Jailbreak al iPod Touch 4G Usando RedSn0w (Windows) [4.2.1]

Estas son las instrucciones de como hacer el jailbreak a un iPod Touch con firmware 4.2.1 usando RedSn0w para Windows. La version de Mac es esta = here.

Hasta ahora solo podes hacer un tethered jailbreak. Esto significa que vas a necesitar la ayuda de RedSn0w para iniciar tu iPod ya Jailbrekeado. Si lo que queres es hacerlo con una version menos de fiemware, quizas necesites buscar un tutorial apropiado here.

Paso Uno
Crea una carpeta en tu escritorio llamada troncirus

Descarga RedSn0w desde here y guardalo en la carpeta "troncirus". Tambien hay que descargar el firmware desde el siguiente link y guardalo en la misma carpeta.

4.2.1 (4G): iPod4,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw

Extrae el RedSn0w ejecutable desde el archivo .zip y guardalo en la misma carpeta de antes.

Paso Dos
Conecta tu iPod mediante USB a la PC y abri iTunes.

Elegi tu iPod de la lista de dispositivos que se encuentra a la izquierda. Ahora mantene apretado el boton Shift y hace click en el Restore.

Navega hacia la carpeta "troncirus" y selecciona el firmware descargado recientemente. Cuando ya seleccionado el .ipsw hace click en el Choose para continuar.

Paso Tres
Cuando iTunes termine de actualizar tu iPod a el desdeado firmware abri la carpeta troncirus del escritorio y ejectua el redsn0w.exe de la carpeta redsn0w que habiamos extracto antes.

Paso Cuatro
Una vez que se abra el RedSn0w hace click en el Browse.

Paso Cinco
Elegi el 4.2.1 firmware ipsw de la carpeta "troncirus" que habiamos creado antes y despues hace click en el Open.

Paso Seis
Una vez que el firmware haya sido verificado hace click en el Next para continuar.

Paso Siete
RedSn0w va ahora a preparar los datos del Jailbreak.

Paso Ocho
En esta ventana vas a poder elegir las opciones del jailbrak que vos quieras.

Asegurate de que elCydia este seleccionado, cuando estes listo dale al Next para continuar.

Paso Nueve
Ahora conecta tu iiPod a la PC y asegurate de que este apagadp, despues dale click al Next para continuar.

Paso Diez
RedSn0w va ahora a guiatre para poner el iPod en modo DFU. Podes encontrar mas informacion sobre el modo DFU aqui here

Mantene apretado ambos botones del iPod Power y Home por 10 segundos.

Solta el boton Power y continua apretando el Home hasta que sea reconociodo por el RedSn0w.

Paso Once
Tu iPod Touch va ahora a reiniciarse.

Paso Doce
RedSn0w va ahora a empezar a subir el nuevo RAM Disk y Kernel.

Paso Trece
Una vez que se haya terminado RedSn0w te lo notificara. Clickea elboton Finish. Cuando tu iPod termine de reiniciarse en aproximadamente 5 minutos, ya estara jailbrekeado y con Cydia en el Springboard.

i have clicked the option " just boot tethered " 3 times and the cydia app is still white. what do i do?

can someone please help me? my cydia icon is white and i can't seem to open it :((( i've been jailbreaking for hours & it's really frustrating!!

For some reason, this tutorial leaves out the important note that if you're running Windows Vista or Windows 7, you need to have redsn0w set to Windows XP SP3 compatibility (right click redsn0w > properties > compatibility) and run redsn0w as an administrator (right click redsn0w > run as administrator).

Tried 3 times so far, each time it has frozen up while uploading ramdisk. Followed instructions to a T.

Run as administrator and compatibility mode windows xp SP3 like AMY suggested.

Hi How to reboot from tethered mode , after jailbreaking in tethered mode for 4.2.1 , my device got shutdown due to low batt , now I cannot reboot or enter UDF mode ,basically the screen got struck and there is no option to shutdown the device.when I press power and home button it goes off and turns on immediately and gets struck ....to enter the UDF mode i should turn off and follow the procedure right ,? Basically I cannot turn off :( any HElppppppppppppppppppppppppp !!!!!

HELP! I did everything to jailbreak it, but its taking more than 10 minutes to boot or whatever on my itouch. Its stuck on the apple with a little frozen loading sign. WHAT DO I DO??? PLEASE HELP!

My Ipod touch 4g was successful but the Cydia turned out to be a white icon and keeps crashing every time i click on it .. how do i fix it?? plz help

so far i've been working on this bullshit jailbreak for hours last night. the way to get that working is to use redsnow again and select tethered only option to get to the second part of cydia.. actually opening it. after that you will need to update it of course which will require another pain staking tethered boot.. EVERYTHING DAMN THING REQUIRES A TETHERED BOOT. that's if you can get the damn thing to boot up. anyway, good luck gents.
