Live sports are coming to the Vision Pro, with Apple set to stream select Los Angeles Lakers games in its Immersive Video format this season, according to a report from TechRadar. The new partnership will deliver multi-camera, courtside views through the NBA and Spectrum SportsNet apps.
The games will be captured using a special version of Blackmagic Design's URSA Cine Immersive Live camera, building on the professional workflow Apple has been developing for its immersive content with tools like DaVinci Resolve. Viewers will get perspectives from courtside and under each basket, designed to replicate the feel of being at the game. The move to live sports comes as Apple continues to build out the content library for its headset, having recently announced a new slate of immersive films.
While the full schedule won't be announced until later this fall, the first immersive broadcast is expected by early 2026. Watching will require a Vision Pro headset running visionOS 26 or later.
Live streams will be available in the United States, though some may be limited to the Lakers' regional broadcast territory. Replays of the immersive broadcasts will be available for three days after each game in the U.S. and will also be offered in several other countries, including the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the UAE.
