Perplexity is expanding its enterprise AI platform with a set of new integrations, workflow tools, and data connectors designed to embed its "Computer" system more deeply into professional workflows. The updates build on the company's recently introduced Computer platform and last month's launch of Computer for Enterprise, pointing to a broader shift toward more continuous, cross-device workflows.
For Apple users, the most notable detail ties into the platform's vision for always-on computing. Perplexity highlighted that its Personal Computer system for Mac can run 24/7 on a Mac mini. This setup lets a user initiate a multi-step task from another device while on the go and return to find the work completed on their desktop. The approach relies on dedicated, always-on hardware and aligns with the recent surge in Mac mini demand tied to local AI workloads.
To meet users where they already communicate, Perplexity is bringing its agent experience to Microsoft Teams. The AI can now be messaged directly or added to a channel without leaving the conversation. The company is also introducing a native side panel for Microsoft Excel, currently in beta, allowing analysts to query models and get assistance directly within their spreadsheets.
A new Workflows feature targets repetitive tasks that surface across teams. Perplexity says it has built a library that currently contains more than 70 customizable workflows covering use cases like sourcing private equity deals, preparing for sales calls, and evaluating competitive positioning. Teams can share these templates and schedule them to run asynchronously.
For deeper enterprise integration, Perplexity added native data connectors for Snowflake and Databricks. These integrations allow users to query internal datasets without moving data between systems or relying on data teams for routine requests. To support secure access, a new partnership with 1Password enables the AI to act on a user's behalf while keeping credentials protected and auditable.
The company also introduced Computer for Professional Finance, a version tailored to analysts. It pulls from licensed data providers including Morningstar, PitchBook, Daloopa, and Carbon Arc, and can generate tearsheets, annotated stock charts, and equity research comparisons with source-linked data.
Perplexity first introduced its Computer system in February as a multi-model AI platform capable of running long, asynchronous workflows. The Mac-based Personal Computer experience is available now via its official site.
