Cory Moll, a part-time employee at an Apple Store in San Francisco is trying to create a union to fight against unfair practices at Apple Retail, according to Reuters.
Moll says "the core issues definitely involve compensation, pay, benefits". He makes $14 an hour. The minimum wage in San Francisco, one of the most expensive cities in the United States, is $9.92 an hour.
Moll created the "Apple Retail Workers Union" website in May but has had little public support.
"There's a lot of hesitation to want to speak about it," he said. "I don't think there's 50 percent (support) in any one store but as people talk about it, we could get close in a couple of stores." "There's definitely no call to action yet." "Right now what I hope to gain is to get people to start talking about it and get comfortable with it."
I'm sure when he becomes Apple Certified Engineer he'll be paid much more. There are labors that just don't cost as much as you want. If you want more - you have to invest in your knowledge something.
I agree, people should not expect to get paid more for jobs that dont require skill. This person just sells the things, he doesnt build them or anything. Genius bar employees get paid more coz they are trained in OSX/iOS. Go to college and get a degree n get paid 20/hr. Best buy employees get paid around the same and they sell way more different kinds of mechandise. If some one buys an apple product its not coz yu convinced them they already wanted one
