Well known iPhone hacker p0sixninja has teased the upcoming release of some 'amazing things' on Twitter that are bigger than a jailbreak.
Last night he tweeted:
I got a lot of amazing things coming to you all soon. think bigger than jailbreak ;)
In March, p0sixninja revealed that he had found the exploits necessary to release a new jailbreak; however, as expected, he decided to hold those back for iOS 7 or iOS 7.1.
His new announcement hints at something better than a jailbreak which suggests that perhaps he has found a bootrom exploit. The last bootrom exploit was limera1n found by Geohot which supported the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and iPad. The exploit made those devices permanently vulnerable to a tethered jailbreak.
Hopefully we will have more news for you soon. To be the first to know of further developments, please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS.

Anyone who says he should wait, is not in the tradional "hacker" mindset, waiting for any reason defeats the cat and mouse game, while i can recognize the desire for maximum usefulness of each exploit, its better to provide for people holdling devices now that need restores and jb, than provide a long exploitable window..

Don't believe a word of it, have you noticed when ever there is news about an exploit its maybe but never definite. But also if you paid attention the only reliable one is in my opinion is Evasion. When Evasion says anything it is as good as money in the bank.

Is it wise to tell Apple they have a bottom exploit before they finish with the new iOS? Just asking?

fleb - June 25, 2013 at 6:30pm
From what I understand is bootrom exploits are only blocked by new hardware, so all existing devices will always be exploitable. However they could block it in future hardware.

Apple can't patch this exploit before the tool is released as they don't know where the vounerability lies and even then, they can only patch it through new hardware.

If a bootrom, wait for the next iPhone's bootrom to be set - we might get a couple more iDevices into the party!
