● iPhone 4 (Mac, Windows)
● iPhone 3GS (Mac, Windows)
● iPhone - No Baseband Update (Mac)
● iPod Touch 4G (Mac, Windows)
● iPod Touch 3G (Mac, Windows)
● iPad 1 (Mac, Windows)

Schritt zwei

Stay away from this crap. I bricked my iPhone because of semi tether. Luckily it was in warranty period so got a replacement. Stay away from piece of shit. This is probably the first dark side of Jail Break i ever encountered since jail breaking began STAY AWAY!

Appsync needs to work with mobilesubstrate first then it will work. They are working on an update for it right now and they say they should have it up in 2-3 days. Sheck the comments from Bigboss on the semiteather

Well, I installed the new mobile substrate and was ready to install semi-tether when it showed that AppSync would be uninstalled. I didn't go through then, but app sync is still working with new substrate.

how come this can't be designed into redsn0w? I did 4.3.5 goofing off and it was tethered but I was able to reboot just the same way as this makes it do.

a good idea, but it doesn't work. in fact, after i installed it and removed it, my phone just restarts on it's own. it works better in safe mode. this tethered jailbreak thing sucks even more w/ this semitether thing making things conflict. ah well. i've prepared myself to deal w/ having stock iOS 5 if i have to wait until an untethered JB drops devs, thank you so far for what you have done.hq

What are you talking about ? just want to abuse us ?
Tom
Tom - October 23, 2011 at 12:02pm
I don't abuse anybody but just telling you the truth this was done by dev-team to brick your iPhones so you can run out there and buy new ones. Don't you recall dev-team last year saying they have a way to unlock the iPhones for good then all of a sudden quiet about it then suddenly lo and be hold apple selling unlocked iPhones. And not new unlocks for new basebands. Come on guys don't have to have a P.H.D to figure it out.

It does not brick the iPhone. It certainly causes some headaches in having to restore the whole thing but it does not brick the iPhone. And I do have a PH.d which obviously you don't.

trusted iclarified and didn't read the comments. didn't work for me iP4 GSM. got stuck on booting circular icon. tried many tools to get back into a bootable state. tiny umbrella fix recovery etc. redsn0w couldn't boot, gave errors. iTunes couldn't restore ispw, gave errors. finally managed to boot with redsn0w but iTunes couldn't recognise device!!!! HELP!!!!!!

Denis Garcia - October 23, 2011 at 3:05pm
Easy, don't worry, this is because the substrate is modified and is trying to work in safe mode, simply go back to Cydia, uninstall the semi tethered tweak, reboot your device (using redsn0w to path boot) and should work just fine.

Same here, iPhone 4. Had to go into recovery mode, then boot tethered...

Stuck at apple logo. iPhone 4. The tried to reboot using redsnow and got spinning icon that isn't spinning after the pineapple appeared. Now it is stuck and I will have to restore the whole thing. Doesn't BIG BOSS test this crap out first?
David
David - October 23, 2011 at 8:23pm
You don't have to restore again, just boot tethered. 1. When the phone is stuck, hold power + home for a few sec 2. When the phone reboots release power, but keep holding home 3. You will be asked to connect to iTunes 4. Plug the phone into pc, and hold power untill the phone turns off 5. Finally Boot tethered ...

David - October 23, 2011 at 8:26pm
Oh, and you should wait for 5 - 10 min after the pineapple logo... It takes some time...

Didn't work for me, the apple logo always appears and then the respring loading circle in the middle gets stuck forever. I guess its all part of the testing period. Even though thanks a lot BigBoss and crew for always giving us this great tweaks.

I have the same problem :-( And "Just boot" doesn't get me out of it! :-(
Denis Garcia
Denis Garcia - October 23, 2011 at 3:20pm
I thought that for a second too, but try to boot again with "Just Boot" and be very patient, after the pineapple you should get the spinning icon (not moving) might appear as stuck but be very patient and it should work just fine, mine took several minutes in the spinning icon before it could start the OS. Now works perfectly. Hope it helps.
